Lynda Draper is an Australian visual artist and educator who works primarily in the Ceramic medium.  She is currently the Head of Ceramics at the National Art School, Sydney. Lynda ‘s work explores the intersection between dreams and reality. Many ceramic sculptures evolve from a state of reverie shaped by fragmented images from her environment, memory, ghosts from the past. She is interested in the relationship between the mind and material world and the related phenomenon of the metaphysical. Creating art is a way of attempting to bridge the gap between these worlds.  Lynda has a fascination with pareidolia, and the phenomena of universal mythologies linked to the spirit image. Her work aims to invite imagination and the contemplation of some kind of other realm.
